The species called chum salmon,
Oncorhynchus keta are known as "Dog Salmon" because of their dog-like
teeth . Chum salmon fly fishing is completely catch and
release when fishing with Valley Fishing Guides
Ltd.
 The
chum come back in huge numbers in October and November making
catching this fish exciting and fun for novice fly fishers
to seasoned anglers! The hardest part is hanging on to these
feisty fish! They fight hard using the strong river currents
to their advantage, jumping and sprinting throughout the battle.
Often you are fighting the fish well into the backing for
the majority of the fight.
If you plan to bring your own gear, we recommend at least
a 9 foot 8 weight rod with type IV sink tip line. We will
provide the terminal tackle required for the species targeted.

offer deep-sea salmon fishing charters near Vancouver
and Howe Sound. Trips are 5 hours in length, however,
can be extended if requested. Rates start at $485
for 5 hours but depend on group size and length of
trip. Contact us for exact rates based on your group
size. We can handle groups of up to 45 persons or more.
